News Local mining company donates to hospital SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Friday, May. 15th, 2015 The Timmins hospital is one step closer to reaching a $15 million fundraising goal. Goldcorp has donated $500, 000, which will go into buying a new MRI. The one they have now is old and isn’t going to last much longer. In 2014, almost 10-thousand exams were done using the machine The four year fundraising campaign is in support of buying new equipment, and renovating different departments. Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility for Goldcorp, Domenic Rizzuto, says many Goldcorp employees were born and raised in Timmins. He says supporting our hospital is essentially about supporting our families.
