Outbreak declared at Kidd Mine

News from two fronts today, as the Porcupine Health Unit territory continues to fight a COVID-19 surge.

Another positive test has come back for someone living in Timmins.  That brings the total to 160 — 29 of them just since New Year’s.  It’s not clear yet how that person picked up the coronavirus.

And two of the more recent cases are in workers from the Kidd Mine in Timmins.  The health unit says one of them lives in its jurisdiction; the other from outside the area.

All of the current cases are in self-isolation.
