Annual rout and seal given the green light

The rout and seal program is a go for this year. Council gave the green light to spend almost 170-thousand dollars to fix cracks in the pavement.  Mayor Black says its an annual event.

“What they do is they clean them out, and then they rout them. Then they seal the cracks with asphalt cement which is that black tar stuff you see across the road.”

Black says the focus will be on one major road in Timmins.

“Really we’re focusing on Airport Road again this year. Then they’ll have some areas to catch up on from the previous years. A few of them in South Porcupine, and then Waterloo Street if the budget allows.”
