Committee launches survey for ideas how to make Timmins bicycle-friendly

We’re in the middle of a winter deep freeze, and city hall is looking for input into cycling in Timmins.

The committee known as “Bike It! Timmins” has launched a survey, looking for ideas – big and small. “It’s just to get input from cyclists and the community with regards to how to make the city of Timmins a bicycle-friendly community,” he says.

Paul adds that part of the aim of the online survey is to encourage cycling as a regular part of your daily commute.  That might include linking existing trails to streets, and installing bike lanes on the streets.

Paul notes that one small step is already in place.

“The transit system currently has these bike racks in the summer. So that’s one way to encourage cycling, especially if you have long distances to travel.”

You can participate in the survey here.
