Pandemic reduces congregation sizes at Anglican Christmas Eve services

Anglican churches across our region won’t be packed this Christmas Eve – they can’t be, because of the pandemic.

Dean Valerie Isaac of St. Matthew’s Cathedral in Timmins says churches across the Diocese of Moosonee are limited to how many people they can have inside.  Most are 50, but it depends on the size of the  building.

“You need to let us know how many are coming so that we can put families together and have social distancing protocols in place,” says Isaac.“We do have the social distancing, we have mask wearing, hand sanitizing and contact tracing. All of those protocols are in place for the safety of everyone.”

“The service at St. Matthew’s will be at 7:30pm. It is a Eucharist service. And the service at St. Paul’s will be at 4:30 and it will also be a Eucharist service.”
