May is Community Living Month, to recognize a non profit that helps those with intellectual disabilities. The association provides services like housing, employment, and independent living. Johanne Rondeau-Bernier, Executive Director, says they are celebrating the month.
She says they just had their 60th annual dinner and dance at the Dante Club. Another accomplishment she says, is they have just become an accredited association.
Rondeau says Community Living is always looking for employment opportunities for the people they support. They have job coaches that go out to help with employers and the individual in the area.
Among the services the organization provides are housing, independent living, employment services, community participation programs, daycare, and youth services.
Community Living Timmins is looking for volunteers, to help with programs and to sit on their board.
