Six COVID-19 cases added to PHU count on Thursday, now up to 113

Just like that, the Porcupine Health Unit has jumped to 113 cases of COVID-19 in its territory since the beginning of the pandemic.

After announcing case 108 Thursday morning and 109 in the afternoon… an evening news release revealed cases 110 to 113.  The first one is in Timmins.  The other five are all in the coastal area of James Bay and Hudson Bay.

All six patients are in self-isolation.  PHU is trying to determine how cases 108 and 109 contracted the virus.  One-ten through 113 are all attributed to exposure to another case.
