Over $300, 000 is going into the Canada Summer Jobs program. 130 jobs will be created in the Timmins-James Bay riding, to give students employment and experience. MP for the area, Charlie Angus, says the region is doing well with the program.
“We’re really pleased to be able to contact all the organizations that are getting summer students. These are really good local organizations, and it’s going to give young people a chance to get some employment that they badly need if they’re going off to college or university,” says Angus.
“Timmins-James Bay has been scoring among the highest across the North, in terms of regular investments in our region. I’m really glad to see another year with the Canada Summer Jobs program where we’re doing very well, because it’s so good to give these young people a chance to get some job experience.”
The private and public sector will benefit from the program, which continues to get strong funding each year.
