Photography refresher offered by library

There will be a full moon overhead on Halloween night, so the Timmins Public Library is offering a photography basics event so you can take good pictures of it.

The Zoom workshop is set for next Tuesday, October 27th at six o’clock… conducted by reference librarian and photographer Karina Douglas-Takayesu (tack-ah-YEH-soo).

She says it’s a good time for a refresher about DSLR cameras.

“And also looking at some of the settings now on the smart phone cameras,” she adds. “They’re actually getting quite good, what you can do with them, even with a basic phone.”

Douglas-Takayesu says she’ll answer questions, including any about what you can do with a DSLR that you might not be able to do with a cell phone camera.

“I mean I’m not saying go out and have to buy a $1,200 camera or anything, but it’s just sort of being able to push the limits of what you have at hand.”

The 90-minute event is free of charge.  You can get your login by emailing [email protected].
