TPS upping enforcement at this intersection

Timmins Police is going to be keeping an eye out at Park and Shirley. They have been getting complaints of cars rolling through stop signs and the lights. They are reminding drivers to come to a complete stop and make sure the intersection is clear before driving off.

From the TPS:

“Drivers are reminded that in intersections with stop signs erected, they must come to a full stop and ensure the intersection is clear before proceeding. If there is a stop line clearly marked in the intersection, drivers must stop there; if there is no stop line, drivers must stop at either the edge of the sidewalk, crosswalk, or intersection (whichever applies).

In intersections with traffic signals, an amber light indicates caution. Drivers having the ability to stop safely should do so. If drivers cannot stop safely, they may proceed through the intersection with caution. Unless otherwise marked, drivers may turn right on a red light, however they must come to a complete stop and ensure the intersection is clear before doing so.”
