“Hiking together but apart” is the approach the Wintergreen Fund for Conservation is taking… as it moves its annual fall hiking days online this month.

Grade 12 student and foundation youth member foundation Jessica Kim says on its website, you can find a list of eight hiking trails.

“In each trail there’s a specific highlight that if you visit the area and take a picture with it and post it online with the correct hashtags,” she says, “if you visit five of the eight locations, your name will be entered in a draw to win different prizes.”

All of the prizes are hiking-related. The hashtags are #hikemrca and #wintergreenconservation.

In addition, Kim says there’s a survey on the Wintergreen website.

“It’s just about the trail conditions and if Wintergreen can improve anything, then they would like to know the public input on that.”

That and the Wintergreen website are here.
