Don’t hunt in city limits or on private property: Timmins Police

Here’s some advice for bird hunting:  Make sure you know where you are.

Two problems have come to the attention of Timmins Police: Trespassing on private property and firing off a gun inside city limits.

Most complaints are coming from the Sandy Falls Road, Shirley Street North and Jaguar Road areas in the northwest corner of Timmins.

Police say criminal charges could be warranted in some instances, overlapping with municipal bylaw infractions.

4. Exemptions

…as may be necessary at a military funeral or at a trap shooting tournament or sporting event, any athletic or aquatic competitions, or to enable any club to carry on shooting events upon premises occupied for that purpose.

5. Penalties

…a fine of not more that $5,000.00 exclusive of costs…
