News TPS looking for a new chief … for a day SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Thursday, Apr. 23rd, 2015 Your son or daughter could become police chief, at least for a day. The Timmins Police are having their second annual Chief for a Day contest. Kids in grades four to six can enter, with an essay on the question, “What are some qualities needed to become a police officer, and why?” The winner will get to spend the day at TPS headquarters, and experience a swearing in ceremony. Last year, 10 year old Dakota Filion won out of a group of over 70. Entries must be between 100 and 300 words and must include the student’s name, grade, and school, as well as contact information such as email address or phone number. Students may enter by emailing their submissions to kate.cantin@timmins.ca, or alternatively by dropping off in person or mailing to: Timmins Police Service “Chief for a Day” contest 185 Spruce St. S.
