A new leader has been chosen for Northern College. The Board of Governors has selected Doctor Audrey Penner as the new President replacing the outgoing Dr. Fred Gibbons who is retiring. Penny has been Northern’s Vice-President since 2014 and has led the academic division in a number of successful projects. In a press release, Penner says she is looking forward to meeting with indigenous leaders and other individuals and communities in her first days on the job. She adds that she wants to build on the successes of Dr. Gibbons has established and strengthen their post-secondary programming. Doctor Penner will take over the position on Tuesday August 4th, so Northern College can get ready for the academic year. Doctor Fred Gibbons will assume an advisory role until the end of August.
