There’s a lot of confusion about the Porcupine Health Unit’s mandatory mask order. It takes effect on Thursday, July 23.
The biggest issue seems to be how the order will be enforced, and if a business can keep you out if you’re not wearing some kind of face covering.
In a statement to My Timmins Now Dot Com, the health unit says businesses don’t have to refuse entry or ask for proof of exemption.
It also encourages a clear policy, publicly visible, and that staff be familiar with it. That could include refusing entry, keeping in mind human and disability rights.
The health unit also says it’s using an education and good faith approach to encourage mask use.
