July 10th 2020 Road Report

Heat Warning in effect for Timmins, Cochrane, and Iroquois Falls. As reported by Environment and Climate Change Canada:

“Daytime high temperatures in the upper twenties to low thirties will accompany humidex values in the mid to upper thirties today. Overnight low temperatures in the upper teens to near 20 degrees Celsius are expected tonight. The heat event will come to an end as cooler temperatures arrive by Saturday. Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high risk category. The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors. Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle. Watch for the symptoms of heat illness: dizziness/fainting; nausea/vomiting; rapid breathing and heartbeat; extreme thirst; decreased urination with unusually dark urine.” For more details, click on the link here.
