Mayor’s Health Table – Thurs., June 25

Here is the Mayor’s Health Table conference call for Thursday, June 25.

LIMITED RESUMPTION OF INPATIENT VISITS AT TADH

Inpatient visits under very strict limits will be allowed at Timmins and District Hospital, effective Sunday.

CEO Blaise MacNeil shared details with the mayor’s health table.

“Patients will be able to receive up to two visits per week for up to one hour for each visit,” he outlined.  “Patients may choose up to two designated visitors over the age of 16 who will be scheduled for alternating visits.”
The hospital will schedule those visits, ensuring that there’s only one visitor per room at any one time.  No walk-in visits are allowed, and the designated visitors will be screened at the door.  They will be confined to the patient’s room for the full hour.

MORE OUTDOOR AMENITIES NOW OPEN

Also at the health table today, the city announced that Gillies Lake Beach is open, and will be maintained but not supervised.  Washrooms at Hollinger and White Water Parks are open, as are open spaces in parks except playground equipment.  And sports fields can be used for training and practice, but no games or scrimmages.

Highlights:

  • TADH CEO Blaise MacNeil on resuming visiting under strict conditions at approx. 7:20
  • Fire Chief and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Tom Laughren on flood conditions at approx. 13:20
  • City of Timmins CAO Dave Landers on outdoor facilities opening, including Gillies Lake Beach at approx. 14:50
