Timmins Transit is moving towards the “old normal”. Starting Friday, the terminal will be open for the sale of tickets and passes, in preparation for fares to return next Thursday.
Operations supervisor Ash Patel says the physical distancing and hand sanitization measures we’ve come to know will be enforced inside the terminal.
“We’ll have one way coming in, one way going out,” he outlines, “and we have cordoned off all the seats and we have made tape measure markings on the floor so customers know where to stand.”
There are only two ways to pay.
“We are not accepting any cash to avoid the transfer of the COVID-19,” says Patel. “We are asking customers to pay by debit or credit.”
The schedule is being expanded on Sunday, too. Buses will run seven days a week on the traditional Saturday schedule, between 6:30am and 10:30pm.
