Are you at a risk for cancer?

An online tool to find out your risks for cancer is being promoted by the Porcupine Health Unit.

It was developed using Ontario data, and can help screen for breast, cervical, colorectal, and lung cancer.

The My Cancer IQ questionnaire asks about lifestyle, and family history.

Public health nurse, Stephanie Gravelle, says the assessment isn’t there to tell you if you’re going to get cancer or not, however you will get a risk assessment report.

Gravelle says this outlines your cancer risk, relative to other Ontarians your age and gender.

Gravelle says the software was developed to help Ontarians be more proactive about health.

The Health Unit will be at the Timmins Square on Tuesday with a My Cancer IQ booth.

Go online to My Cancer IQ to fill out the questionnaire.
