News Wild weather prompts Environment Canada investigation into a report from Barber’s Bay SHARE ON: Bob McIntyre, staff Wednesday, May. 27th, 2020 For illustration only. (pixabay.com) It’s not clear yet if there was a tornado in Barber’s Bay last night. Environment Canada meteorologist Gerald Cheng says he’s only seen one Twitter report of trees down in that eastern rural area of Timmins. But the agency is gathering data. There was also a damaging wind in Ramore that is being looked into. “There were reports of quarter-sized hail, a trampoline flown to the end of a block, shingles an tarp garages also damaged,” he remarks. “We encourage people to upload any pictures and videos on Twitter, #onstorm or email them to us at onstorm@canada.ca”. Send those photos to us, too, please. Cheng adds that we’re just getting into thunderstorm season, so keep an eye on the sky and stay safe.
