Golf tournaments are ruled out of bounds for this summer. But that doesn’t stop the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation from using a golf theme for a fundraiser.
This would have been the eleventh year for the John P. LarcheGolf Classic. So manager of donor relations Barb McCormick says it has moved to the foundation’s website.
“This is a really unique way to fundraise,” she remarks, “and we hope that Northern Ontario will join us and walk the course.”
Participants are entitled to take a shot by giving a donation.
All the proceeds go towards a new mammogram machine.
“We are at the point that the mammography unit is at the end of its life and end of support,” says McCormick. “So we definitely need to get the one in the breast wellness centre.”
The fundraising target is $60,000. And you don’t need brightly coloured, funny looking pants to play.
