March 20th 2020 Road Report

No collisions or road closures to report, however:

  • HWY 144 has been closed by the OPP from HWY 101 to the Watershed
  • The Snowfall Warning that was issued for Timmins, Cochrane, and Iroquois Falls yesterday continues for today (Friday, March 20th):
    • “Significant snowfall continues today. Additional snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected before the snow tapers off this afternoon. This will give total snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm. Northerly winds gusting to 50 km/h will develop early this morning causing some blowing and drifting snow. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.” For more details, please click the link here.
  • The City of Timmins Winter Parking By-Law is now in effect. From November 1st, 2019 to April 30th, 2020, vehicles may not park on the streets overnight, from 11:30pm to 7:30am. Cars can park overnight in areas with signage that reads “Parking Permitted Unless Otherwise Posted”. Towing will occur anytime an illegally parked vehicle interferes with winter operations, like snow plowing. More details about the Winter Parking By-Law can be found here.
