More charges for the man implicated in stolen police cruiser incident

The 20 year old man who is being charged after stealing a cop car is also facing a slew of other charges.

The Black River-Matheson man allegedly led police on a high speed chase around midnight on Friday, before stealing the cruiser.

OPP Constable Gillian Coughlin says officers tried to pull him over on Friday. After he didn’t stop for the police, they tracked him down at the Wahgoshig Reserve.

He was then arrested, hit with seven charges including dangerous driving, and released.

He then allegedly stole the cruiser the next day.
