News Higher risk of moose on the roads in spring SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Tuesday, Mar. 24th, 2015 The MNR is warning drivers on northern roads to be careful this time of year. Wildlife like moose and elk will become more active as the temperatures begin to rise. The Ministry says to keep an eye out where roads cross water, in wooded areas, and where signs are posted. If there is an animal on the road, braking and stopping is your best defense, as swerving to avoid it can end up in a bigger crash.
