*CORRECTION ON DATE* MPP planning town hall on climate

CORRECTION:  Event is Tuesday night, not Monday.

The climate is the only topic for a town hall meeting next Tuesday night, put on by Timmins MPP Gilles Bisson.

It’s at 6:30pm at St. Dominique Hall on the corner of Norman St. and Park Ave.

“We look at what’s happened in Australia.  We look at what’s happening in Northern Canada,” he says. “Clearly there is effect to the environment when it comes to what’s happening as far as discharges. And I think citizens what to find out is there something they can do.”

Bisson will use input from the meeting to try to convince the government to change its ways.

“The government, I think, is going in the wrong direction.  I think most people feel the same.  And this is our opportunity to, in a constructive way, to find a way to say okay, if se don’t like what the Tories have done and Mr. Ford has done, what should be done and have that discussion and bring it back to Queen’s Park.”

Among the things Bisson thinks the Tories have done wrong is cancelling rebate programs for home insulation, windows and doors and buying electric cars.
