English Catholic teachers begin work-to-rule Monday

English Catholic teachers plan to start a work-to-rule campaign on Monday,  and the board in our region is quick to say it will be business as usual.

In a news release, the Northeastern Catholic district board says the job action is not intended to have any direct impact on student learning.  It will target ministry- or board initiatives only.

Director Tricia Stefanic says any changes to that status will be communicated to parents through the usual channels.

The action is similar to what other teachers’ unions have been doing since November, trying to pressure the province to negotiate a new contract with them.
