Right in time for Christmas, influenza-A has arrived in our region.
The Porcupine Health Unit confirms the first case of it in its catchment area, but provides no other details.
In a news release, the health unit emphasizes that the best defence against the flu is vaccination. It’s available at the health unit, doctor’s offices and pharmacies.
If you can’t get a shot, you’re advised to wash your hands often, cough and sneeze into your sleeve, keep commonly touched surfaces clean, and if you feel sick, stay home.
