Schools in our region will not be affected this Wednesday, when public high school teachers stage limited strike action.

District School Board Ontario Northeast chairman Bob Brush says only certain boards will be hit by the withdrawal of service, and his isn’t one of them.

“This day of action will not affect any of our schools.”

“We will be open as always for business for students and staff,” he emphasizes, “and so I would want our community to know that this day of action will not affect any of our schools.”

Brush adds that the Christmas break begins at the end of the school day next Friday, December 20th.  Teachers and students will be back on Monday, January 6th.
