Ribbon cut at new TH&VS track and field

Bob Brush has been waiting for today since he was principal of Timmins High and Vocational School many years ago.

Tuesday — as chairman of District School Board Ontario North East — Brush cut the ribbon on a state-of-the-art track and field at TH.

He says the $3-million facility is in line with the board’s vision statement of empowering all learners to achieve personal excellence.

“This complex will go a long way in supporting students in reaching personal excellence in the endeavours of track and field, soccer and many other sports,” he told the small gathering. “And this will get use from across the board and I look forward to coming out and watching those events that will take place on this field.”

It didn’t take long for one of those events.  Right after the ceremony, TH hosted cross-town rival O’Gorman in a soccer match.
