Community policing officer Const. David Ainsworth of Timmins Police says DARE has benefitted from Smile cookies for several years.
āWithout that program, a lot of the funding which goes to books for the children and gifts and rewards for their succcess in the Grade 6 and 8 program here in Timmins is provided by the Smile cookie campaign,ā Ainsworth comments.
āWe donāt have any fundraising targets, but weāre just greatly appreciative of the city, because it is such a great program that the city supports and has always supported and we are very thankful for any kind of contributions that the citizens of the city can help to make the city better.ā
