Crime of the week: Stolen firearms in South Porcupine

The Timmins Police Service needs the public’s help in solving a break, enter and theft which occurred at a residence in South Porcupine.

Sometime between May 2019 and August 9,  2019 someone was able to gain access to an apartment in South Porcupine and then the gun vault and steal 2 firearms, some ammunition and several Scopes.

The stolen firearms are described as:

  • A Browning 30/06 semi-automatic Long Trac rifle with a mossy oak camouflage finish and a black Bushnell scope and Browning sleeve. It has a Matching mossy oak camouflage strap.  And a
  • A Savage 30/06 bolt action rifle with winter camouflage finish and no scope, It had a matching winter camouflage strap as well

Also stolen were four scopes, a Vortex, a Burris, a Bushnell and a Sight Mark, along with several rounds of ammunition.  All of this is valued at over $7 000.

Someone out there knows something about this theft. You need to come forward and you can do it anonymously.
