Welcome to Timmins Night looking for volunteers

Welcome to Timmins Night is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

This year’s edition is on the evening of Wednesday, September 4th at the McIntyre Curling Club.  Exhibitors will have all the information any newcomer to Timmins needs to settle in.

Chairman Mike Scott says the event owes its success and longevity to the local partners that make up the committee every year, as well as the volunteers who help out.

He’s looking for ten such volunteers.

“Definitely reach out to the Timmins and District Multicultural Centre if you’d like to take part,” he advises.  “It’ll be three hours of community service hours, so I know high school students if they’re looking for a few extra hours, it’ll be a great experience.”

Scott says some of the volunteers will be at the entrance, accepting food and stuffed toy donations that will serve as the admission fee.

“We also have a few people that are going to be facilitating a world map.  It’ll give people the opportunity, especially newcomers, to pinpoint where they’re from.  It’s just to show the kind of diversity that Timmins has.”
