TFEC chairman debunks rumours about Rock on the River

Crazy rumours are swirling around this weekend’s Rock on the River music festival at Mountjoy Participark.

Timmins Festival and Events Committee chairman John Olaveson calls “ridiculous” the rumour that Saturday’s headliner, Theory, is a Theory of a Dead Man cover band.

“It’s Theory, it’s Theory of a Dead Man,” Olaveson says, emphatically. “They’ve just shortened their name.  We do not have a cover band, a Theory of a Dead Man cover band playing.”

Rock on the River has had cover bands in the past, but Olaveson says never for a Saturday night headliner.

If that’s the most-spread rumour, then one saying that all tickets are sold out is.  Olaveson says that’s only true for VIP, Tier 1 and Tier 2 premium-priced tickets.

“But there’s still Tier 3 tickets,” he points out, “which is regular price for general admission tickets, which is $65 a day, $120 for a weekend pass.”

Any that are left over will be available at the gate.  Olaveson cautions, however, that there is no guarantee of that, so he advises you to buy them online at the Timmins Festivals website.
