The Sheepdogs Still Having Fun, Play Rock on the River this weekend

14 years, 6 records, multiple world tours, and no signs of slowing down: The Sheepdogs are still having fun after all this time. Adding a new band member surely helps!

With the release of their 6th studio album, Changing Colours (2018), it marked the first time that The Sheepdogs had recorded a record with multi-instrumentalist, Jimmy Bowskill. As bassist Ryan Gullen puts it, he can play “anything with strings”, and being a former solo artist, Bowskill brings with him years of road experience. Plus, he is pretty exciting to watch while he does it too.

Before playing Rock on the River 2019 this weekend, Ryan Gullen, founding bassist for The Sheepdogs, chatted with Moose Mornings with Tom about lessons learned from the road, what goes into making hilarious music videos like “Nobody” and “Saturday Night”, as well as what that Rolling Stone cover means all these years later. Listen to the full interview below.

Rock on the River takes plays July 26-27th, and features The Sheepdogs, The Trews, Theory, Tim Hicks, great food trucks, craft brews, and so much more.
