The front yard is the place for the latest Timmins Museum exhibit

They’ve taken it outside for the latest exhibit at the Timmins Museum.

“Climate Change is Here” is in the front yard.

Director-curator Karen Bachmann points out that it features 20 photos and accompanying text. from the Canadian Museum of Science and Technologyand National Geographic.

“So it looks at deforestation,” she explains, “it looks at heat, it looks at melting ice caps, some of the changes and then some of the mitigating technologies that are currently being used and that are being tested out, to try to slow down this process a little bit.”

It’s the museum’s first display not within the walls of a gallery.

“We’re trying something a little bit different,” Bachmann comments, “because the show is one that they’ve started to do for outdoor displays and we thought well, let’s give it a try.  We kind of like it, actually.  It adds another dimension to the museum itself and gets our front yard in use a little bit.”

The display is solar powered, so you can check it out any time of the day or night until the end of September.
