$1M for winter maintenance?

Budget talks are continuing at city council, and now the Public Works Department is in the hot seat. City Engineer Luc Duval presented just over a 7% increase in the budget to council last week. That would give public works and engineering $17.7M. The biggest part of that increase is winter maintenance, which would have a budget of $1M if approved. Duval says there are some issues coming up this year, including a deteriorating infrastructure and the connecting link repairs.
