Farmers Market looking for new logo

New location, new look for the Mountjoy Farmers Market.

As it gets ready to operate at a permanent location – the Mountjoy Historical Park on Riverside Drive – the market is holding a logo contest.

Two categories are available:  Junior, up to 12 years old; and open, which can include design professionals.

Garnet Wilcox is the market chair.  He says it’s looking for a distinct logo, apart from the Timmins Fall Fair.

“So we’d like to incorporate the existing logo from the fall fair into the new logo,” he says,  “and just looking for a logo that will kind of speak to agriculture and so it has the look of a farmers market.”

The open category winner gets 100  market dollars, which can be spent at the new market, or the Thursday market downtown.  The junior winner gets 50 market dollars.

“From the open category,” Wilcox outlines, “that is the logo we would use basically on official correspondence, signage, promotion for the farmers market.  And for the junior category, any junior events, whether it’s like a junior farmers market day or anything of that nature is where we would use the logo from the winner of the junior category.”
