Police now report that as of 2:00pm, the incident is over. A 45-year-old man has been arrested without incident, and is awaiting assessment at Timmins and District Hospital. No one was hurt and no property damaged.
Access to Mahoney Rd., off Kamiskotia Rd. in the west end of Timmins, is restricted while police deal with a person barricaded inside a house.
In a release, the service says officers responded to a call for a person in distress early this morning.
A critical incident negotiator is on scene.
The Timmins Police Service emergency response team is there to maintain public safety.
