A group of local volunteers are coming together to try to bring bigger musical acts to Timmins. The grassroots effort was sparked after last week’s announcement of The Hip coming to Kirkland Lake. Many took to social media to ask why not here. Mayor Steve Black says one factor is K-L has been building up their acts over the last 15 years, while we are just starting. The volunteers are still planning to meet tomorrow, and they are looking for more people. It’s happening on Thursday, 7:30 p.m., at L’Armise in the La Ronde cultural centre on Mountjoy Street North.
