UPDATE AT 9:10am: Hydro One confirms that 20,400 customers are affected between Matheson and Kapuskasing along Hwy. 11, south to Gogama area and west to Foleyet. Estimated time to have it all restored is 12:00 noon.
UPDATE at 8:50am: Power is returning to parts of Timmins. Downtown is back, so is 93.1 Moose FM. We also have a report of it being back on Spruce St. N. This story will be updated whenever possible/necessary.
Electricity appears to be out across a wide area of our region this morning. The lights, coffee makers, toasters and hair dryers went out at almost exactly 8:00am.
Moose FM and My Timmins Now Dot Com are hearing from people between Matheson and Kapuskasing who say they are affected by outage. A lot of Timmins is powerless, too, but not in the north end.
My Timmins Now Dot Com has reached out to Hydro One for details on how widespread the interruption is and when we can expect power to be restored. More details as they become available
