UPDATE: Name of deceased released in fatal collision; Police investigation continues

UPDATE: 2:14pm

The OPP have now released the name of the Timmins man killed in a collision along Highway 11 late Tuesday.

37-year-oldĀ Patrick Bourgeois was the man killed in the two-vehicle crash around 8:00pm between Highway 655 and Smooth Rock Falls.

Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Their investigation is still ongoing.

 

 

Police are investigating a fatal collision that has taken the life of a Timmins man.

The OPP James Bay Detachments were called to Highway 11 in Calder Township last night around 7:45pm due to a collision just west of Cochrane that shut down the highway for over 12 hours.

Officers arrived to find a mini-van had collided head on with a commercial truck.

Police say the driver, a 37-year-old Timmins man, whose name has yet to be released, was pronounced dead at the scene and the other driver was uninjured.

Highway 11 was closed for nearly 12 hours following the collision before being re-opend this morning.

Police say their investigation is still ongoing.
