TPS seeks help regarding attempted abduction

The community’s assistance is needed in regards to an attempted abduction.

The Timmins Police Service is asking for help with an attempted abduction of a local youth that took place late this past Friday.

TPS says a young man was aggressively approached by another man at the intersection of Kimberley and Elm Street South.

The suspect is alleged to have tried to force the young man into his vehicle before the man was able to brake free and escape.

Currently the suspect is being described as a Caucasian male, who is roughly 40 years old, a long nose, a long skinny face and short dark hair.

The suspect’s vehicle is being described as a black Jeep SUV with a spare tire mounted on the back.

The Timmins Police Service says this is currently an open investigation and public assistance is being sought to identify the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Timmins Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
