Summer is, indeed, coming to Timmins. Here are three sure signs from Tuesday night’s meeting of city council.
Council approved a Knights of Columbus toll booth for Main Street and Bruce Avenue in South Porcupine in support of Muscular Dystrophy of Canada. It will take place on May 25th.
It also approved street closures for South Porcupine Summerfest on the weekend of July 20th, and for Festa Italia at the Dante Club the following weekend. The usual eleven o’clock noise bylaw provision has been extended to two o’clock in the morning for Summerfest, and one o’clock for Festa Italia.
Also at council: approval to buy a new pumper truck for the fire department for 611-thousand dollars plus HST. It’s expected to be delivered in the next two months.
