Photo credit: mjolyliberal.ca The cross-Canada caravan of federal cabinet ministers making pre-election funding announcements makes a whistle stop in Timmins on Thursday. Tourism, official languages and La Francophone minister Mélanie Joly will make two funding announcements. The first is in the morning at the Timmins Economic Development Corporation office on behalf of FedNor minister Navdeep Bains — in the words of the news release about the event — “to strengthen, diversify and grow the regional economy. Then after lunch, Joly will be at the Timmins Museum “to announce funding to support cultural and community space projects in Timmins.” The 2019 federal election takes place on October 21st.
