UPDATE AT 8:00am WEDNESDAY: The city is awaiting the delivery of asphalt for paving. The road is now expected to open Thursday or Friday.
Westbound Highway 101 through Schumacher could be open later today (Tuesday), once work is finished on repairing a broken water main near the western entrance to Father Costello Drive.
Late this morning, workers were just preparing to repave the patch of affected road.
In the meantime, the detour into Timmins is still in place via Vipond Road and Moneta Avenue.
And when it’s school bus time, Timmins Police are asking drivers coming in from South Porcupine to adhere strictly to the speed limit on Gold Mine Road.
