Province shuts down potential TGR and Mushkegowuk partnership

The proposed partnership between T-G-R Railway and the Mushkegowuk Council to buy the rail sector of Ontario Northland has been shot down by the Province.

Northern Development Minister Michael Gravelle says the deal is not happening. Gravelle says the Province has been very clear on its stance to keep the remaining four sectors of ONTC in the public hands.

The deal would have potentially seen ore shipped by railway from the Ring of Fire into Timmins.

Gravelle says the Province has been very clear in their stance to keep the remaining sectors of ONTC public, after Ontera was sold to Bell.
