SNOW DAYS APPROACHING RECORD TERRITORY

You call it a snow day.  The people responsible for school buses call it a transportation cancellation day.

Today is the tenth such day of the school year for Timmins.

Tri-Board Transportation superintendent Ryan Hartling says records go back to 2010. They show eleven snow days in 2011-2012, but five of them were only for buses running between Gogama and Timmins.

Whether we break that record remains to be seen, of course but there is snow predicted this weekend.

Hartling says buses were kept parked today, because plows didn’t get out early enough to clear the roads of the snow that fell overnight.
