School buses for all four school districts in Timmins have been CANCELLED for today. Schools will remain OPEN.
The cancellations affect all four of Timmins’ school boards:
- Conseil Scolaire Catholique de District des Grandes Rivieres
- Conseil Scolaire Public du Nord-Est de L’Ontario
- District School Board Ontario North East
- Northeastern Catholic District School Board
This also includes school bus routes for Hearst, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Gogama, Foleyet, Madison, Ramore and surrounding areas.
With the over 20cm of snow that fell overnight, the roads were about 30% clear at the times the school buses were supposed to head out. Many side roads were still completely covered in a fresh blanket of snow.
