‘CELEBRATION OF SPIRIT & TRADITION’ STARTS WITH TRIVIA NIGHT

South Porcupine’s Roland Michener Secondary School has a couple of special events planned to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The first one is a trivia competition hosted by the parent advisory council on March 2nd.

Rebels Trivia Night will feature a lot of questions about Michener and South Porcupine history, says principal Kirsten Elvestad.

”Doesn’t mean you have to be an expert in either of those areas to participate,” she adds. “There’ll be many questions that all people, even if they’re not from the area, will be able to answer.”

Elvestad has been a student, a teacher, and now principal at RMSS.  She says trivia night is a chance to renew acquaintances with people from the school’s past.  Her table will be made up of past administrators of the school.

“There is going to be a prize for the winner.  We haven’t narrowed that down quite yet,” Elvestad observes. “We know for the non-winners, they will have detention with the principals’ table. (laugh)”

The tables are going for 250 dollars – maximum ten people per table – and go on sale tomorrow (Tues., Feb. 5).  Click here for a link.
