Five impaired driving charges in December

Timmins Police stopped around one-thousand cars during their RIDE program. During that time, no impaired driving charges were laid. However, five people were charged outside of the RIDE program. Two of those charges stemmed from different collisions, and one was charged after police were called about suspected impaired driving. Police say to call 9-1-1 if you suspect someone is on the road after drinking. Signs are inconsistent speeds, drifting, or making exceptionally wide turns.
